I’m kind of unusual as a stand-up comic, because I didn’t start doing this until I was well into my 40’s. And what makes that unusual is that that is the age at which a lot of comics actually quit doing comedy. See, what happens is they start out in their 20’s, and then after 15-20 years of working the road they realize that that is kind of a shitty way to live.
So they quit. And then they settle down and get married, have kids, and lead a normal life.
And see, I did it the other way around: when I was in my 20’s, that was when I settled down and got married and had kids,a normal life.
And then I realized that that is kind of a shitty way to live.
So I quit.
